The origins of Facebook
On February 4, 2004, TheFacebook (which later became Facebook) was created in the United States by a young Harvard student named Mark Zuckerberg, who has since become the leader of a tech giant. In France, the social network appeared four years later, in 2008.
The early days of Facebook
The older Millennials (born from the early 1980s to the late 1990s) probably remember the pokes (and the associated sound) to get someone’s attention without saying anything special, the introduction of likes, and the trend of « stalking, » which involved spying on the pages of old acquaintances from school.
The evolution of Facebook
At that time, Facebook was nothing like the network we know today. The page was static, and we posted in the third person. Often, it was just nonsense. Twitter didn’t exist yet, and the social network was still kind because we were among « friends. »
